What’s up guys. I’m on the conference right now. No wireless available but I can pos from my phone.
Cold as hell over here.
The first day panels were awesome.
I’ve learned quite a lot about the audio involved in games.
I’ll post a bigger update when I get back to the hotel.

The more I get closer to achieving my goal, the more I realize how hard it is to find information regarding almost everything.
I am trying to find some tips for the interview and it seems no one really bothered sharing this info somewhere.

Everything good to go.
Interview confirmed, Flights booked, hotels and so on.
Here are the places where I will be:
February:
10 to 14 – London (AES Conference)
14 to 17 – Budapest (Hungary)
17 – 20 – Dortmund (Germany)
20 – 24 – Liverpool
24 – Back home
The LIPA interview is on the 23rd.
Now that everything is done I will use this little time left for the trip to
study some maths and physics… just in case.. you never know what to expect.
I will now be off for a while again.. prolly until my arrival in London.
Expect lots of updates from inside de conference. that is, if they’ve got wifi available during the lectures and workshops.
Cheers

Wow.. that was unexpected..
Cubase 5 and Ableton Live 8 were announced today.
I must say I am very impressed by the new Cubase.
Some new plugin updates aiming for the electronic musicians: everything I had hoped for!!!
Internal pattern sequencing (BeatDesigner)!!! and much more.
Not to mention the new Live 8!! too many good stuff to mention.
Be sure to check the manufacturers websites for more detailed specs.
I promise I wil get back with my considerations as soon as the
Upgrades are available for purchase .
Lipa Interview, Cubase 5, and abl 8 all on the same day… too good to be true!!

Yeah guys!
One step closer now.
I have been granted an interview.
Now I am making the travel arrangements and scheduling everything so I can make it for the AES conference too.

Things are starting to shape up pretty nicely.
Application was sent on monday by mail and this morning I had a chat with Darren Murphy from LIPA on the phone to see if they could arrange the interview, if I am given one of course, to the end of February.
I am planning a short trip for the AES conference in London but the tickets are very expensive. so it’s only worth it if I get the interview..
Fingers crossed and lets hope for the best.
If everything works out as planned I will be in the conference from 11 to 13 of feb.. then later the interview in liverpool. then I will take some days off for some vacation with local friends!!

lol..
Still no passport… I better send my application soon before it’s too late.
The guys at the embassy keeps telling me they are a bit overloaded and my passport is delayed.
“Fuck yea I know better than you!…”
Also.. thanks to Michael Buckhoff for the comments! Feel free to get in touch anytime to arrange the interview!

Ok.. as you seen on my last post I changed my mind about SAE and now I am heading tunnel vision to LIPA.
Be sure to check this blog out for the updates.
Resumé of the steps:
TOEFL – Done. Pass.
APPLICATION – Almost done. Currently finishing the 1 track left to send within my application.
EUROPEAN PASSPORT – I was born in Brazil. But my family is from Italy. So I have double nationality. I have filled the forms to get the passport. Its taking longer than I expected but the lady from the embassy says It should be ready by November 15.
When I have all in hands I will be sending them my application.. Hopefully I will be granted an invite for the Interview… being an international student helps as they are highly interested on those (eu nationals pay about 4k pounds a year.. international students pay nearly 9k…) and what sucks the most is that I am actually an EU National.. but I cannot pay normal fee because I haven’t lived in Europe for the last 3 Years..
oh well.. Its the law.. What can we do….
so.. fingers crossed and hoping for the best.
